Today is a BIG day for us! My husband and I have been watching all kinds of milestones come and go since Tank had his surgery. We waited for him to wag his tail.. we waited for him to finish his dinner… we waited for him to be able to navigate the stairs on his own.. all thing that made him “more like Tank” to us. I am sure we are not the only ones who worried ( for no reason!) that our tripawd would not be the same dog we had before. Well today we hit the big one. My daughter called me at work and said “How long has Tank been sleeping on your bed??” Ok, don’t judge, but we have one of those dysfunctional bed routines where my husband and I often find ourselves contorted in the night making sure the dogs have enough room 🙂 You know, waking up with a sore back because you slept weird..all because you didn’t want to bother the dog. Yep, that would be us!!! Anyway, long story short we didn’t think Tank would ever get on our bed again. Not only is it upstairs, but it is a TALL bed. I kind of wanted to panic when she called, but I just couldn’t stop smiling. Yep… that’s my Tank!!! Loving life every single day, and back almost 100% to everything he could do before. And it has only been 3 short weeks!! I want to be a dog in my next life. They are amazing!!!!

Tank is living large! Roxie used to sleep on her back a lot (on her Beasley’s couch) and we never thought she’d do it again after the rear-leg amp in March. About 3 weeks later (maybe that’s the magic time) there she was, perfectly balanced, looking like a big white Snoopy doing her happy dog sleeping snoring dance! We have that same bed issue but with cats (which is even more dysfunctional). Have a spiral stair that the dogs can’t manage -next house will definitely have a first floor bedroom! Very glad that boy is getting back to normal. Agreed on the next life idea – long as it’s with pawrents like all us crazies!
That is utterly cool!

Congratulations on your milestone, Tank and family! It’s so sweet you can all cuddle in bed again. AMAZING!
Worthy of a celebration! It’s the little things that count.
Go Tank!

Yes indeedy, CONGRATULATIONS TANK! This is wonderfuo news!
Pity the poor soul who doesn’t know the joy of sleeping witha warm cuddley dog under the covers…especially on cold winter nights! Oh yeah, I understand the stiff backs, the contortions, etc And isn’t it great !
Hapy Hannah is a little past her six month amiversary (and continuing onto many more…knocking wood) and still is unable to get her big self up the stairs to join us….another bed sleeping dog and I. old house..narrow steps. I slept downstairs next to her on a bed of blankets and pillows on the floor for over two months simply because I couldn’t pstand not sleeping with her! My back final sent me back up to the bed!
She’s 118 lbs. and I can’t help her up the stairs.
Your post is sooooo upliftng today! I’m absolutely thrilled that yo are starting to seeyour Tank owning his new life as a tripawd! He’s Tank for goodness sake! He’s not aout to miss out sleeping in nis bed!

Tank is becoming more and more like….. TANK!!!
That is awesome news.. and makes us all grin ear to ear here!!
Way to go Tank!!!!
Yes, I know exactly what you mean about waiting for “them” to come back. The day I knew Barret was back was the day he jumped off the BACK of the sofa (a very high drop). I watched helpless and terrified he’d injure himself, but was happy to have my bouncy boy back 🙂
